RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher

T68_self_defense_paintball_gun.jpgPaintball guns aren’t just for fun and games any more. The new RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher paintball gun is a self-defense device.

As a non-lethal weapon, the RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher is a paintball gun that shoots paintballs, filled with PAVA powder rather than paint, causing the target’s eyes, nose, and throat to burn.

When would you use the RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher paintball gun?

Picture this:

You are alone in a park when a large shadow starts approaching you from the opposite side of the park. The hair on your neck stands on end. You greet the stranger in an attempt to clear the awkward silence. The stranger returns your greeting with a short “hi,” still walking towards you. You ask the stranger’s name, but hear no response.

You start to walk away but the stranger speeds his pace. You yell to the stranger again, at which point he starts to chase you. Your adrenaline is in full force. Your “fight or flight” response has been engaged. Then you remember your trusty RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher paintball gun. Although pepper spray could be difficult to aim and wouldn’t reach very far, your Self Defense T68 paintball gun is under no such limitations. You pull out the Self Defense T68 paintball gun, pop ten quick shots at the assailant, and down he goes.

He is crying on his knees, and you can flee the seen. But strangely, you hear the assailant yell your name. He calls you an “idiot.” You recognize his voice. It’s your tallest friend. He wanted to scare you and play a prank. And you shot him with your Self Defense T68 paintball gun. Fortunately, you weren’t carrying a gun, or he would be full of bullet holes. Instead, you had your non-lethal Self Defense T68 paintball gun, and within hours, your friend will be released from the pain you inflicted upon his poorly timed practical joke.

Your friend won’t stalk you in the park any more. And you will carry your trusty Self Defense T68 paintball gun wherever you go.

Okay, maybe that’s a corny story. But you get the point.

When to use the RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher paintball gun

Carry it. What don’t I like about the Self Defense T68 paintball gun? The main concern is its size. A pepper spay fits in a lady’s purse. A paintball gun does not. I’m not sure when you would carry the Self Defense T68 paintball gun with you, unless you kept it in your car. But if you are in your car, you are probably safer to drive away than roll down the window to shoot someone.

Animals. I’m not sure if the Self Defense T68 paintball gun works on animals. If it does, that could be useful on camping trips with bears, wolves, etc.

At Home. However, if you want a gun to protect you and your family at home, this seems like a great idea. It’s not deadly, so it doesn’t carry the same risk of injury to children. Also, you can shoot an intruder without worrying about killing him. The RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher paintball gun would be a great home defense and personal protection solution.

Specifications of the Self Defense T68 Launcher

The RAP4 Self Defense T68 gun is a small, handheld unit that shoots up to a 60 foot distance. The RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher paintball gun uses the “RAP4 Self Defense Live Rounds.” The gun shoots up to 10 RAP4 Self Defense Live Rounds, which are PAVA filled projectiles (like paintballs). Once shot, the PAVA filled projectiles will cause your assailants eyes, nose, and throat to burn, leaving them coughing and temporarily debilitated so you can escape to safety.

The RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher uses CO2 to shoot ten Live* or Practice rounds semi-automatically up to 60 feet (20 meters). The Live Rounds break open on impact and disperse a cloud of potent PAVA powder, which causes an attacker to cough, choke and become debilitated. They will not penetrate through walls, and are far less dangerous to family members and bystanders than bullets.

RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher advanced features include:

  • Rapid Change Magazine
  • 10 Round Capacity
  • Highly effective and non-lethal self-defense device.
  • Protects you from attackers up to 40 feet away.
  • Fires ten shots in rapid succession providing protection from attackers.
  • Non-lethal unlike firearms.
  • Far more effective than aerosol pepper sprays

Legal Issues with Live Rounds

*Live Rounds are prohibited in California, Delaware, Minnesota, Washington DC and Wisconsin to customer. In New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, Live Rounds and Launchers must be purchased through an authorized dealer.

Conclusion

The RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher paintball gun protects from greater distances than Mace or aerosol pepper sprays, and it doesn’t have the potential to kill. The RAP4 Self Defense T68 Launcher paintball gun is an excellent self-defense option, especially fitting for home intruder protection.

This doesn’t strike me as something to rely on. It may work most of the time, but with my luck the attacker would be on PCP or otherwise immune to plain pain. Also a concern is the seeming lack of concern for a projectile weapon that is “safe”. Safety is relative and a projectile that has mass, moves at a high enough velocity to break a paintball shell open and disperse something at twenty yards could cause serious injury or even death to a young child at very close range. I’ll stay with my Taurus .357 Tracker, thanks. I know what it will do and sensible friends or foes will answer and halt when I display it.

* Rapid Change Magazine
Bet I can change out a mag in my .40 a lot faster

* 10 Round Capacity
I’ll stick with 12 .40 S&W rounds

* Highly effective and non-lethal self-defense device.
I don’t trust a spice to defend me and mine

* Protects you from attackers up to 40 feet away.
maybe, if a spice will stop them, if not, you are really screwed

* Fires ten shots in rapid succession providing protection from attackers.
see above

* Non-lethal unlike firearms.
Break into my house, meaning to cause me harm, you get whats coming to you

* Far more effective than aerosol pepper
sprays
as I said, I don’t trust a spice for protection, I have seen people walk straight into a stream of pepper spray and seem like there was no effect on them. Give me a real gun with self deffence ammo any day over a paintball marker for defending my home. keep the paintball markers on the field where they belong, and yes, I do play paintball.

Paintball Guns

Josh:

Thanks for your comments. I agree that a gun that shoots real bullets can be more effective at stopping intruders.

However, many people would rather have a non-lethal protection device. Their reasons vary:

(1) a non-lethal protection device is less likely to harm children who may find it,

(2) people don’t necessarily want to kill an intruder,

(3) people may be more comfortable in the heat of the moment shooting a non-lethal device since they aren’t having to struggle with the thought that their action could kill someone, and

(4) using a gun against an intruder is not permitted under the law in many states (some states allow it under the right circumstances).

Thanks for your comments and feedback, Josh. I appreciate the dialog.

Hi Paintball Guns :)

As a non-violent activist and a believer in less than lethal weaponry as a last resort, this page interests me greatly and therefore I will be linking it within my own website Links Page as well as referring back to it quite frequently within the course of my discussions.

Thank you for sharing it!

Does anyone know where to find the contact information for dealer sign ups on this HREF=”http://www.reddotpaintball.com/store/934302/page/903487″>paintball gun? I get asked frequently to carry self defense paintball guns.

I suggest a spyder electra with duel trigger points and a 100 round q-loader. This marker setup is capable of a true 30 rounds per second and by changing the stock spring in the marker you can increase the c02 pressure far above what would be found in normal game play.

Pepper Balls or not, if you are walking in my house and are met by me and my painball gun you wont be expecting the 100 rounds you catch in the face/body within the 3-4 seconds it took you to walk in and im willing to bet that after the 10th 15th consecutive round that your going down every time and i dont care how big a man you think you are, pantballs are painfull especially if you werent prepared to take the rounds.

carl

can i use it for playing gotcha with my friends?

Matt

I grew up in a household where hunting for sport and meat was the norm. Call me what you may – I personally feel if you need a gun that fires lethal rounds for you to feel safe – you are not manly as someone who can protect their family by other means.
